# Introduction

So many things have changed, and others will also change in the coming months and years, since I started writing the old posts about ALM, that I felt I had to write a new guide from scratch instead of amending the existing articles.

![New Dynamics 365 ALM Guide](http://ariste.info/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/IMG_2620.jpeg)

The [old guide](http://ariste.info/dynamics365almguide/welcome-2/) covers pretty much everything needed to have a healthy ALM for your Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations projects, and most of it can still be used with no changes... except maybe some cosmetic changes on Azure DevOps 😅

With the new Unified [development](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/developer/unified-experience/finance-operations-dev-overview) and [administration](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/unified-experience/finance-operations-apps-overview) experiences, we're going to get a new set of tools for our projects:

- PPAC (say goodbye to LCS)
- Power Platform tools for DevOps
- The new "local" development experience
- Use Git in a very straightforward way
- Deploy to production from a release pipeline... yes, you read well, "deploy to production", that's correct 😁

The articles in this new guide include step-by-step guides of all of the above, written from scratch and with updated screenshots. Initially, it will only cover the F&O side, but my plan is to get to show a fully unified ALM where you automate both the ERP and Dataverse projects.
